Overview
The Dark Caipirinha is a richer variation of Brazil’s classic Caipirinha, made by replacing white sugar with demerara sugar. While preserving the drink’s signature lime-forward freshness, the darker sugar adds depth and subtle caramel notes to the traditional profile.
Preparation Method
Place the lime wedges and demerara sugar in an old-fashioned glass. Muddle gently to extract the lime juice and oils without over-crushing the peel. Fill the glass with ice cubes, add the cachaça, and stir briefly to combine.
