Overview
Homemade Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur prepared by combining vodka, coffee, sugar, and vanilla, then allowing the mixture to rest and mature over time. Rich, sweet, and deeply coffee-forward, it is designed as a versatile after-dinner liqueur suitable for sipping, mixing, or enriching coffee-based drinks.
Preparation Method
Dissolve the sugar in boiling water, then add the corn syrup and stir until fully integrated. In a separate container, dissolve instant coffee in the remaining water. Combine the coffee mixture with the sugar syrup in a large container and allow it to cool completely. Once cooled, add the vodka and vanilla extract and stir gently. Before bottling, strain the mixture through a fine filter to remove any impurities, particularly from the vanilla. Seal the container and allow the liqueur to mature for 4–5 weeks before use.
