
Overview
The Moranguito is a theatrical layered shot built for intensity, combining high-proof absinthe, crisp tequila blanco, and sweet grenadine. Fast, aromatic, and uncompromising, it delivers anise heat, agave bite, and a brief sweet finish in a compact flaming serve.
Preparation Method
Pour the grenadine into a shot glass to form the base layer. Carefully layer tequila blanco over the grenadine using the back of a bar spoon. Gently float the absinthe on top to complete the layers. Do not fill the glass to the rim—leave 2–3 mm of headspace for safety. Ignite the absinthe layer briefly, then extinguish the flame before serving. Serve immediately and warn that the rim may be hot.
